He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfons Handwerk and Maria Handwerk (Herbert). He is survived by: his wife Franziska Handwerk; his children, Hilde Williamson (John), Nancy Karr (Jeff) and Gary Handwerk (Nancy); his grandchildren, Heather Kost (Shawn), Holly Williamson, Laura Friedman (Josh), Andy Karr (Karlien), Kim Lannoy (Derek), Ashley Dixon (Bill) and Krislynne Lyons; and his siblings, Irmgard Rothaug and Konrad Handwerk (Lisbeth) of Germany. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service and interment will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery. Masks are required at the funeral home and social distancing must be observed.
