He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh F. Cliff Sr. and Missie Mae Cliff (Lee); his daughter Serena Elizabeth Cliff; and his brothers, Donald Cliff and Howard Cliff.

He is survived by: his children, April Lynne Alexander (Cliff) and Craige L. Cliff; his grandchildren, Howard Williams Jr., Alanna Smith, Ryan Ivy and Andre Ramone Cliff (Sara); his great grandchildren, Eden Rose Cliff and Harlem Reign Cliff; and his sisters, Marian Stephens (Cliff) and Barbara Johnson (Cliff). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews. cousins.
