He is survived by: his wife Ruth (Daniel); his children, Cathy Redwine (Mark), Karen Hunt (Brooks), Glen Preston (Jennifer) and Kevin Preston (Maryellen); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Redwine, David Preston, Tyler Preston, Caroline Preston, Kristen Hunt, Brooks Hunt III, Stephen Preston, Christopher Preston, Allison Preston, Megan Preston, Matthew Preston, Andrew Preston, Emma Preston and Anthony Preston; and his siblings, Paul Preston, Jarvey "Lee" Preston and Ellen Sargent.
Ernie and Ruth loved gathering together with family, and ask that memorial contributions be made to the South Bloomfield United Methodist Church Family Center Fellowship Hall.
