He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parent Columbus; his wife Freda; his daughters, Melanie Shapiro (John) and Dee Foeller (Jim); his grandchildren, Madison Foeller, Anna and Elise Shapiro; his brother Robert L. Spruance; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Whitmer. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children - Cincinnati.
