He was predeceased by: his father James Edward Waters; his stepfather Charles O. Paxson; his niece Mia Noel Paxson; and his granddaughter Hailey Cannaday. He is survived by: his wife Janice; his children, Herman Applewhite (Margaret) and Catherine Hammett (James); his grandchildren, Courtney, Ceanna, Audrey and Colton; his mother Irene June Paxson; his brother Douglas Paxson (Sandy); and his nephew Bret Paxson.
