He was predeceased by: his brother Jeff Root. He is survived by: his parents, David and Betty; his sons, Brandon Murray (Christina) and Nathan Walker (Emily); and his siblings, Brenda Murray, Debbie Orr, Donna Baylets, Peggy Root, David, Mark, Mike, Terry and Ray Root.
