He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joe McKnight and Julia McKnight (Lowery); his wife Peggy (Thompson); his sons, Alan (Kathy), Brian (Linda) and Jon (Susan); his grandchildren, Mark (Hillary), Jeff, Doug (Rheta) and Kyle; his great grandchild Hudson; and his sister Marcelyn Jeffries.

A favorite charity of Joe's was the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
