He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Powell and Martha Powell; his sisters, Julia Downey and Nancy Herron; and his wife Sandra Powell (Sandy).

He is survived by: his sons, Mark (Renee) and Jeffrey (Jeff); and his sisters, Sandra Mendenhall and Carol Groeber. He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren and spouses; 1 Great Grandchild.
