He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Freeman and Mary Freeman; and his brother Richard Freeman. He is survived by: his wife Fran Freeman; his daughter Gretchen Rozens (Todd); and his grandchildren, Elijah, Maria and Max Rozens. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

John has requested in lieu of flowers for donations to be contributed to the Ohio AIDS Coalition or the Parkinson's Foundation.
