He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arthur V. Kessel and Helen Kessel (Hopkins); his wife Margaret Sarah Kessel (Wagner); his sons, Robert (Mona) and Thomas; his grandchildren, Sarah, Ellen and Jonathan (Bria); and his great grandchild Adalynn Rae.
