He was predeceased by: his parents, John Melvin and Mary Catherine Melvin; his daughter Kathleen Marie; his grandson Kasey Warner; and his siblings, Michael Melvin and Carol Jean Melvin.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann; his children, Eileen Hines (Paul) of Westerville, Dianne Kline (Steven) of Hilliard, John Melvin (Connie) of Columbus, Cathy Warner of Columbus, Michael Melvin (Carmen) of Glendale and Richard Melvin of Columbus; his grandchildren, Connor Hines, Andrea Taylor (Mike), Stephanie Kline-Meyer (Aaron), Daniel Kline, Samantha Melvin (Tony Kanagy), Kaila Melvin, David Thomas (Ashley), Mary Kate Corrova (Cody), Nathaniel Thomas, Sarah Thomas, Jonathan Thomas, Katie Warner, Jude Melvin (Katie) and Tori Melvin; his great grandchildren, Chance Priestly, Thaddeus, Leo Kanagy, Matthew and Amber Thomas; and his siblings, James Melvin, Kathleen Brush, Patricia Brush, Mary Alice Shuhart and Laura Stuts.
