He was predeceased by: his wife Jaya Konar; his children, Karunambika Konar and Kumaran Konar; his parents, Karunaiappa Konar and Kaliammal Konar; and his sister Nachamma Konar.
He is survived by: his children, Karthikeyan Konar, Radha (Rick White) and Meekshi Konar (Vijaya Konar); his brothers, Sundharam and Gopalan Konar; and his grandchildren, Chandini and Chandrika White.
