He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Sulton Hayes, Sr. and Elvy M. Hayes (North); and his siblings, Gilford B. Hayes, Rickey P. Hayes, Edward E. Hayes, Sylvia L. Hayes-Parks, Jesse M. Hayes-Betts and Sheryl C. Hayes-Malone.
He is survived by: his cousin Willia Harvell (Reeves); his wife Frinzine Hayes; his daughter Danielle Boykin; his grandson Daniel Ferguson; and his siblings, Derek Hayes (Valerie), Charles Hayes, Elvy "Roz" Hayes and Katrina "Tina" Hayes. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, a host of cousins.
