He was predeceased by: his parents, Yevsey and Genya; and his sister Bella Adler. He is survived by: his wife Shifra Elkind; his daughters, Jane Fonin (Randall Labaki) and Ella Gelfand (Vladimir Friedman); his grandchildren, Yuliya Fonin and Yehoshua Gelfand (Tali); and his great grandchildren, Yitzi, Sara and Pinny.
