He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Spillman and Martha Spillman; and his daughter Donna Lynn Spillman. He is survived by: his wife Donna (McClary); his children, Mary Cannon, Rick Spillman (Sandy), Vicki Wright (Ricky), Patti Damron (Dan) and Kelli Spillman (Ellen Garling); and his siblings, Carl McAuley, Betty Shade and Ruth Parr. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
