He was predeceased by: his son Shaine "BooBoo" Jr.; his grandfather Elzie; and his cousins, Garry and Paul Spangler. He is survived by: his wife Debby; his children, Kaylop, Kayla and Belly; his grandson Karson; his parents, Debra Haddox (Mark) and James Patterson; and his siblings, Annie Patterson, Christin Gordon, Ashley Adams, James Patterson (Toni), Anthony Patterson (Ashley), Kerry Gordon Jr. and Mike Gordon (Jackie). He is also survived by grandparents, aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews and friends.
