As Shirley Mae departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Shirley Mae. Though Shirley Mae may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Gerber (Bill) and Hazel Gerber of Dover. She is survived by: her siblings, Virginia Whetstone (Todd) of Sugarcreek and Bob Gerber (Jane) of New Philadelphia; her daughter Leslie Vassar of Clyde, Ohio; and her siblings' children, Jenna Greene (Andy) of Sunbury, Rachel Goldman (Mark) of Columbus, Kelly Strickland (Ian), Jonathan Gerber (Enjoli) of Durham and David Gerber (Windi) of Fort Mill.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 30th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Geib Funeral Center (5600 N Wooster Ave, Dover, OH 44622).
