He was predeceased by: his parents, Isadore Cyrus and Frances Benis; and his sister Alice B. Slonim. He is survived by: his wife Yass Benis; his children, Bruce Benis, Isaac Cyrus Benis, Cathy Mendel (Alan Rothenberg), Caryn Yair (Naftali) and Arianna Benis; his grandchildren, Daniel Mendel (Caroline), Jonathan Yair, Allison Mendel (Eric Ciavardini) and Jordana Yair; and his great grandchild Amelia Mendel.
