He was predeceased by: his parents, Sylvester Holmes and Grace Holmes; and his brother William Holmes. He is survived by: his children, Reginald Heilig (Janet) of Salisbury, NC, Thomas A. Holmes (Ramona), Karman Wright, Sylvester Wright, Tamara Mapp, Timothy Mapp (Faye), Jim Twitty (Diana) and Ron Mapp (JoEllen); his brother Lemuel L. Holmes (Gail) of Greensboro, NC; and his brother-in-law George Swann. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
