Tinsley was predeceased by: wife Shirley Jean Morris; parents, Tinsley Morris and Jeanette Morris; and siblings, Leonard, Marshall, Marvin Morris and Marian Morris.

Tinsley is survived by: children, Paulette Mechant (Will), Kimberly, Myla Morris and Craig Morris; and siblings, Nancy Morris, Ruth Haris, Kathleen Jamison, Marsha Jamison, Phillip Morris (Kaye) and Ronald Morris (Maria). Tinsley is also survived by 5 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
