He was predeceased by: his mother Barbara J. Clark; his grandparents, Anderson Mitchell, Sr., Anna Mae Harris and Eugene Strickland; and his aunts and uncles, Richard Strickland, Curtis Strickland, Sr., Patricia A. Newsome and Esther "Wiggie" Strickland.

He is survived by: his father Sammy Strickland, Sr.; and his siblings, Anthony Mitchell, Sr., Sammy Strickland Jr. (Davina), Tracy Perry (James) and Tyra Mitchell. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
