It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Ann Grant (Columbus, Ohio), born in Booneville, Mississippi, who passed away on October 24, 2019, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Ed Gorden and Rilla Bell McCoy-Gorden; her stepmother Leona Gorden; her aunt Ebby; her uncle Vance Shumpert; and her cousins, Erron Grant and Jannie Shumpert (Nathaniel Grant).

She is survived by: her aunt Elizabeth Shumpert; her children, Anthony Grant (Debra) and Annette Simmons (Greg); her grandchildren, Tristan Fritz (Josh), Briana Medley (Ed), Justin Grant, Brandi Simmons and Jason Grant; her great grandchildren, Jaia Grant and Josh Fritz Jr.; her siblings, Jacqueline Reece, Geneva McCain (Oscar), John Earnest (Beverly), Recie Watkins (Fred), Tommie Rogers, Ronald Shumpert (Jackie) and Reggie Shumpert; and her siblings-in-law, Joseph Grant (Hannah), Phillip Grant (Sarah), Ida Johnson, Vernice Grant, Francis Grant, Diane Grant and Sadie Taylor. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted children, grandchildren, family friends.
