He was predeceased by: his wife Linda; his parents, Howard DeWitt and Ruth DeWitt; and his brother-in-law Terry Hill. He is survived by: his daughters, Jeanne Karbowski, Susan Walaszek (David) and Jennifer Grubb (Mel); his grandchildren, Ben Karbowski, Jacob Walaszek (Meghan), Kayla Walaszek, Cassie Walaszek, Sydney Grubb and Trent Grubb; and his siblings, Dick DeWitt (Claudia), Nancy Reed (Tom), Bob DeWitt (Mary) and Ann Hill.
