He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Forte and Lula Forte; and his siblings, Maceo Forte, Gene Forte, Joe Forte and Juanita Eldridge.

He is survived by: his children, James Forte and Kimberly Forte; his grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Brittany Smith, Antoinette Smith, Najohn Watson and Nyeme Watson; and his sister Lula Forte-Penn. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, loving extended family and friends.
