He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sauer and Cecelia Sauer (Baumann); his siblings, John "Jack", Christine Anne, O. Carm, Thelma Felker and Mary McComb; and his siblings-in-law, Genevieve Sauer Bowman, Richard McComb, George Felkner and Pierce Eyerman.
He is survived by: his wife Marie; his sons, Luke (Terrie) and Dominic (Cindy); his grandchildren, Jack Sauer (Jennah), Matt Sauer (Mallory), Amanda McCoy (Trey), Michaelanne, Josh, Braden and Damian Sauer; his great grandchildren, Aeden Hanos, Guinevere Sauer, Alaric Sauer and Paxton McCoy; his sister Leona Eyerman; and his siblings-in-law, Marian Baumann (Pete) and Joseph Pollina. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
