She was predeceased by: her parents, John G. Makynen and Ina Makynen (Herlevi); her daughter Diane Stern; and her brothers, John and James Makynen.
She is survived by: her husband Victor J. Summers; her children, Linda McCroskey (Mike), David Summers (Judy) and Matthew Summers (Robin); her grandchildren, Jeff Colucci (Melissa), Lisa McCroskey (Alvin), Erin Hays (Andy) and Matthew "Tae" Summers; her great grandchildren, Isaiah, Lexie, Madison, Lilly, Lenox, Jonas and Nate; and her sister-in-law Dorothy Makynen.
Memorials in her memory may be given to the Gageville United Methodist Church.
