He was predeceased by : his parents, Carl Tinney and Cornelia McNamara Tinney; his daughters, Sandra Rice and Jayne Danylchuk; and his brother Jack Tinney.

He is survived by : his wife Carmel Loucks Tinney of Conneaut; his daughters, Jill Miniard (Gregory) of Geneva and Sara Forester (Scott Cline); his stepdaughter Chelsea Loucks; his siblings, William Tinney (Carol) of Conneaut, Charles Tinney (Linda) of Ashtabula, Mary Louise Hodgkiss of Wisconsin, Patricia Shelker (Ray) of Copley, OH and Margaret Perry of Naples, FL; his grandchildren, Christopher Jr., Logan Forester, Jillian and Shayne Miniard; and his son-in-law Wayne Rice (Jeannie).
