He is survived by: his wife Bonnie McGill Sturgill; his children, Christopher W. Sturgill, Richard E. Johnson (Leonida), Andrea M. Sturgill Cordray and Sarah A. Sturgill; his grandchildren, Ethan R. Clark, Avonna R. Ellison, Elia R. Ellison and Abigail Sturgill; his siblings, Sherry M. Boggs (Robert), Pamela Halsey (John), Winford "Rick" Sturgill, Jr. (Julie), Robert Gregory Sturgill (Shirley) and Jeffery L. Sturgill (Debbie); and his sister-in-law Tonja Sturgill. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
