He is survived by: his wife Carol Proper (Hassett); his children, Michael Proper (Lori Scarnecchia) of Niles, Mark Proper of Holiday, Michele Proper of Cortland and Melissa Proper Busefink of Cortland; his grandchildren, Heather, Sarah, Amanda, Rachel, Mackenzie, Ryan, Kyle, Joseph, Noah, Jake and Alexis; his great grandchildren, Lillian of Maxwell and Julian; his sister Marilyn Thompson (Roger) of Wattsburg; and his niece Pam.
