He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Mercer and Rosetta Cora Mercer (Knox); his wife Betsy E. Mercer (Fortney); his brother Charles Mercer; and his half-brothers, Mike Mercer and John Mercer.
He is survived by: his siblings, Joanne Nys (Henry) of Warsaw, Janice Sowers (Gene) of Pataskala, Sandra Mercer of Coshocton and Bruce Mercer (Vicki) of Heath; and his half-sisters, Myrna Bailey of Hillsdale, MI, Priscilla "Buzzy" Price of Newark and Julia McCullough of Newark. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
