He was predeceased by: his parents, Orlena "Rose" Walters (Hedge) and Delbert L. Meddings Sr. Del; his wife Judith "Judy" Meddings; and his stepfather Jurd "Jerry" Walters. He is survived by: his daughters, Tory Sines of Coshocton, Shannon Powell of Coshocton and Tara Meddings (Jeff) of Coshocton; his grandchildren, Hannah, Garrett Duling, Andrew Sines, Kayla Husk (Steven), Heather Nichols (Nik), Krista and Katie Meddings; and his siblings, Della S. Jamison, Delbert L. Meddings Jr., Caroline Reinke and Sharon Neff. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
