He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Bachelder and Thelma Bachelder (Bishop); his brother Harold Bachelder; his grandchildren, Christopher Miller and Lana Bachelder; and his brother-in-law Terry Hoffner.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Bachelder (Miller); his children, James Bachelder (Lorry) of Coshocton, David Bachelder (Dawn) of Johnston and Mary Ellen McFerren (Terry) of Uhrichsville; his grandchildren, Michael Bachelder (Danielle) of Loudon, TN, Leann Uhlenhopp (Brent) of Urbandale, Brian Miller (Katie) of Dresden, J. B and Alicia Kiely (Sebastian) of Cranberry Township, PA.; his sister-in-law Lee Bachelder; and his siblings, Larry Bachelder (Kay) and Judy Hoffner.
