He was predeceased by: his parents, George Rister and Myrtle Rister (Wilburn); his son Thomas L. Rister; his son-in-law Joseph "Joe" Marchese; his siblings, Richard, Stanley, Paul, Elwood, Melvin, Sylvester, Buster, Audrey, Mable Hopkins, Betty, Beulah Ervin, Faithia Waddell and Flossie; and his sister-in-law Dolly Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Patty Rister; his children, Teresa Marchese, Randy Rister (Kristy), Tina Ditmars (Jon) and Jessica Flannery (Allen); his grandchildren, Joshua, Joey, David, Nicole, Thomas, Matt, Tommy, Brandon, Riley, Alex, Kristen, Gregg, Hanah, Shawn, Josalyn, Jude, Liam and Julian; his daughter-in-law Jamie Rister; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Hefner, Jim Hefner, Mary Jane Conkel and Charlie Carpenter. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church (1676 Hopley Ave, Bucyrus, OH 44820). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
