He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary VonGunten and Walter C. VonGunten Sr.; his sons, Walter Chris VonGunten III, Scott Jones and Craig VonGunten; and his great grandchild Nyla VonGunten.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian VonGunten; his children, Curtis VonGunten (Laurie), Mark Jones (Sandra), Victoria VonGunten Tilghman (Eric), Nici Lucas (Kurt Liston) and Andi Lucas (Zach Robinson); and his daughters-in-law, Loretta VonGunten and Margaret VonGunten. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home (1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
