Marie Sims Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marie Sims (Dayton, Ohio), who passed away on June 19, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Sims and Katie Mae Kilgore Sims; her significant other Roscoe Simmons; and her siblings, Curtis, Bobby Sims, Pearlie Thurmond and Mary Stevens.
She is survived by: her siblings, Billy Sims (Karen) of Statham, GA, Joe Dickens of Gainesville, GA, Evelyn Harrison of Dayton, OH, Grace McGuire and Levonia Brown of Statham, GA; and her brothers-in-law, Willie Pete Thurmond of Statham, GA and Dozier Stevens of Athens, GA. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and friends.
Marie was an executive assistant at Kettering Foundation in Dayton, Ohio where she had been employed since December of 1985 and worked faithfully for over 35 years, until her passing.
