He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Auer and Fairy Auer (Cross); his siblings, Sue Ann Kohorst and Gary Auer; and his stepfather George Sterling.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Hile; his daughters, Angela Cross (Jimmy Smith) of Delphos, JoAnn Gibson of Shelby, Carolyn Lindeman (Dave) of Delphos, Teresa Stanton (Jimmy) of Huntertown, IN, Brenda Cress (Faith Askins) of Lima, Gail Gibson (Mark Ditto) of Delphos, Christina Auer (Trey Raines) of Delphos and Anna Auer of Delphos; his sisters, Carol Hirn (Jerry) of Ohio City, Dianne Mullenhour (Norman), Shirley Hall (Buck) of Celina, Pat Dunkin (Harley) of Ottoville and Mitzi Huffine (Dave) of Van Wert; and his siblings-in-law, Delmer Kohorst and Karen Auer. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
