He is survived by: his children, Lance Buettner (Carol A.) of Lima and Jan Wiechart (Bill) of Delphos; his wife Carol M. Wells; his siblings, Thomas Buettner (Irma) of Delphos, Ellis Buettner (Amy) of Lima, Lois Halliwill, Dorothy Miller of Delphos and Edna Feathers (John); his siblings-in-law, Isabella Watkins of Lima, Mary Winhover of Delphos and Clifford Wells of Delphos; and his grandchildren, Megan Buettner of Cincinnati, Lauren Buettner of Columbus, Tony of Delphos, Nick of Delphos and Matt Wiechart of Delphos.
