He was predeceased by : his parents, Luther Upole and Mildred Beight Upole; his wife Francis Doyle Upole; and his siblings, Lona Mary Tancer and Dwight Upole.

He is survived by : his sister Lois Rambo of East Palestine. He is also survived by two nephews and a niece.
