He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Tara Sr. and Margaret Tara. He is survived by: his siblings, Judy Hritsko (Peter) of Vermilion and John E. Tara (Cynthia) of Elyria; his siblings' children, Patrick Hritsko (Dee) of Elyria and Emily Tara of Copley; and his aunt Margaret Kotai of Elyria.

Due to the pandemic, a memorial service will be planned in the future.
