She was predeceased by : her mother Dorothy Ball (Kiely); her husband Richard Armine Pettus; and her brothers, Jack Ball (Baltimore, MD) and Rick Ball of Terre Haute, IN. She is survived by : her father Joseph Butler Ball; her sons, James "Chip" Green (Cathi) of Tipp City, OH, Michael Green of Clayton, OH and Paul Pettus (Laurie); and her granddaughter Lindsey Green of Englewood, OH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She received the 1999 Lackner Award to honor her significant contribution to the Catholic and Marianist character of the University.
