He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Roscoe and Zelda Pyles (Payne); his daughter Carolyn; his son-in-law Richard Roark; and his siblings, Howard, Verlyn, Roland, Dale, Wilma and Mary.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Pyles (Hayward); his children, Shirley Cassell (Terry), Ralph Pyles (Robin), Vivian Coleman (Charles), Mary Pyles and James Pyles (Angela); his grandchildren, Robert Cassell (Kerry), Natalie Smith (Zeke), Amanda Jenkins (Johnny), Katie Chapman (Chris), Carrie Roark, Rachel Oney (Zach), Matt Coleman (Glenna), Adam Coleman (Kendal), Ryan Pyles, Josh Coleman (Kayla), Alisha Horton (JP) and Kayla Maya Pyles; his great grandchildren, Nick, Cole, Noah, Isaac, Chase, Brielle, Finn, Izzy, Mattie, Colton, Lucas, Silas, Chloe and Maryn; his siblings, Robert Pyles, Gertrude Clark, Ruth Deam and Alma Jean Pyles; and his sisters-in-law, Phoebe Pyles, Martha Pyles, RoseAnn Hayward and Viola Hayward. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Donor's local church.
