He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerrold Gecowets and Mary Gecowets; his daughter Diana Lynn Gecowets; and his siblings, George, Bob, Stanley and Karen.
He is survived by: his wife Sally Eileen Gecowets; his daughters, Gay Metz (Gene), Sherri Widecan (Joseph) and Wendy Oinonen (Michael); his grandchildren, Andrew Metz (Melissa), Adam Widecan (Jessica), Gavin Metz (Christina), Ethan Vidjecan (Casie), Meredith Widecan (Tyler Mattera), Rachel Krippinger (Jimmy), Paige Oinonen and Mitchell Oinonen; his great grandchildren, Colbie, Hadley, Hudson, Marlowe, Eloise, Grayson and Lucy; his sister Mary Jane Hess (Craig); and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Gecowets, Herb Huber (Beth) and Marylyn Bradley.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Church of the Nazarene (6235 Chestnut St, Painesville, OH 44077). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
