He was predeceased by: his son Roger Brierly; and his siblings, Owen, Ruby, Joyce and Ruth Numerous.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Brierly; his children, Cathy Parrish (Tom), Danny Brierly (late Leah), Lisa Dennie (Marty), Rhonda Coppedge (Randy Schadle), Frank Brierly (Tammy) and Ricky Brierly; his daughter-in-law Kathy Brierly; and his brothers, Gary Brierly and Glen.
