He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Stephens and Marcine Stephens Smith (Wells); and his daughter Mandi Borer. He is survived by: his wife Cathy I. Miles; his children, Cole P. Stephens of Findlay and Jaimye Benedict (David) of North Baltimore; his grandchildren, Makayla Rein, Grace Rein and Collins Borer; his brother Jeffrey Stephens of Arlington; his son-in-law Phillip Borer of Tiffin; and his pet Cooper.

Memorials may be given to the Hancock County.
