He was predeceased by: his father Donald E. Hammons; and his brothers, David and Daniel. He is survived by: his children, Wendy Hammons (Marc Cetrone) of Waterford, MI and Donald E. Hammons III of Indiana; his grandchildren, Andrew Ramirez, Donald E Hammons IV, Averem Hammons and Cyrai Hammons; his great grandchildren, Donald Hammons V and Theodore Hammons; and his siblings, Dewey Hammons, Kathy Goslin, Rose Gordon, Mary Edwards (Andy) and Sarah Hammons (Jeff Miller).
