He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Bergman and Mary Bergman (Remaklus); his son Dennis Bergman; his grandson Anthony Joseph "A. J." Bergman; his brother John Bergman; and his parents-in-law, George and Alberta "Bertie" Groff (Wooddell).
He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline "Jackie" Bergman (Groff); his daughter Shawna Carney (Steve) of Fort Recovery; and his grandchildren, Alicia Smith (Mike), James Carney (Jessica), Aaron Bergman (Brandy), Shylar Covers (Dustin), Katelyn Brown (Tyler), Bryan Bergman (Matt Humphries), Zach Bergman (Victoria Tebbe) and Jayci. He is also survived by his 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home (308 S Wayne St, Fort Recovery, OH 45846). A Mass was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church (403 Sharpsburg Rd, Fort Recovery, OH 45846). A burial was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery (512 S Wayne St, Fort Recovery, OH 45846).
Memorial contributions may be given to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
