He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold H. Schindler and Audrey E. Schindler (Marks); his siblings, David, Rex Schindler and Patricia Hothem; and his daughter-in-law Carla Schindler.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Schindler (Stiteler); his sons, Steven Schindler (Sheryl) of Frazeysburg, Scott Schindler (Tia) of Pataskala, Ohio and Stacy Schindler (Stacy) of Pataskala, Ohio; and his sister Janice Eichenauer of Newark.
