It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clarence Rutan (Grove City, Ohio), who passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rutan and Ruby Rutan; his siblings, Glendal Rutan (Doris) and Ethel Adkins; his siblings-in-law, Evelyn Rutan, Loyce Rutan, Chuck Caldwell, Larry Starner, Junior Hayes and Dwayne Garrison; and his stepdaughter Tina Kretzer.
He is survived by: his son David Rutan (Dana); his grandchildren, Jenna Smith (Austin) and Brenden Rutan; his son Steve Rutan (Jessica); his granddaughter Sophia Rutan; the mother of his children Sharon Rutan; his stepson Shawn Kretzer; his stepgrandchildren, Nathan Collier, Haley Wright, Austin Kehl and Schyler Kretzer; his great-step-grandson Mason; his friend Deborah Davidson; his siblings, Chester Rutan, Roger Rutan, Mary Francis Caldwell, Sue Starner, Ramona Hayes, Sarah Garrison, Faye Buckalew (Rick) and Patricia McDade (Jim); and his brother-in-law Charlie Adkins. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in honor of his service to our country and his final battle to your local VA Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
