He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Waldo and Peggy Lou Carson Merritt; and his siblings, Sharon Kay Merritt, Jacqueline Elaine Iseman, Ralph Garry Merritt, Timothy Gene Merritt and Rell Christopher Merritt.
He is survived by: his sister Rebecca Griswold (John); his siblings-in-law, Marty Merritt and Gene Iseman; and his sibling's children, Melissa Lindsey (Dave), Amanda Burris (Travis), Lana McKenzie (Alister), Leah Lindsey, Lori Davis (Jim), Peggy Daugherty (Jerry), April Adkins (Anthony), Jeff Merritt (Tamie) and Dakota Griswold. He is also survived by several great nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
