He was predeceased by: his mother Helen Staton; and his sister Joetta Metcalf. He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara Hollandsworth (Ron) and Carl Metcalf (LaRae); his uncles, Dan Staton (Cindy), Eugene Staton (Ruby), Paul Staton (Rebecca) and Clint Staton (Marilyn); and his aunt Geneva Staton. He is also survived by five nephews; five great nephews.
